Frigid temperatures and gusty winds will persist across the Tri-State Area for the next several days.
On Tuesday night, temperatures will drop back into the teens, with some single-digit readings to the north. Winds gusting between 25-35 mph will keep wind chills in the single digits or even below zero.
Wednesday will start off sunny, but clouds will increase in the afternoon. Highs will remain similar to Tuesday, peaking in the upper 20s to lower 30s.
Snowstorm No Longer a Major Concern for NYC
The potential snowstorm originally forecasted for Thursday now appears to be much less of a threat to the Tri-State region. While a significant snowstorm is still expected offshore, its track has shifted south and east, reducing the impact on the area.
Earlier projections suggested extreme snowfall totals—some models even estimated up to 23 inches. However, updated forecasts now show widespread accumulations of less than an inch for most of the region. Coastal areas, particularly eastern Suffolk County, could see slightly higher amounts, ranging from 1 to 3 inches. Any snowfall on Thursday is expected to be intermittent, with snow showers tapering off by Thursday night.
