William Paterson Chosen for TD Ameritrade Institutional Grant Program

William Paterson University in Wayne is one of six institutions nationwide selected by TD Ameritrade Institutional to receive a $15,000 grant aimed at increasing diversity in the financial planning profession.

As a designated Hispanic-Serving Institution, William Paterson University was recognized for its strong commitment to educating and training future financial planners, as well as its efforts to raise awareness about financial planning careers among minority communities. The grant will support expanded outreach to local high schools and community colleges, introducing students to the field and encouraging more diverse participation in financial planning programs.

“We’re honored to receive this grant from TD Ameritrade Institutional and proud to be part of a national effort to enhance diversity and expand opportunities for minority students in financial planning,” said Tao Guo, professor of financial planning at the University’s Cotsakos College of Business.

William Paterson University is home to one of the nation’s top financial planning programs, earning industry recognition for its students’ achievements at conferences and national competitions. Financial Planning Magazine has consistently ranked the university among the best schools for aspiring financial planners.
